Tallow rendered from cattle fat sourced right up the road from me here in Maine.
I use my tallow as my face cream, sunscreen, (closed) wound healing lotion for fast healing and hydration on myself and my dog, and as a “conditioner” for my cast iron pans.
Offered in an 8oz glass Ball jar Tallow is a whiteish substance and solid at room temperature. I recommend refrigerating (which will harden the tallow) or storing in a cool dark place. I keep my larger jar in the fridge, a small jar on my bathroom counter for skin use, and a small jar in my bag for use as needed when on the go.
Tallow is rich in triglycerides, specifically oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and linoleic acid. It contains essential vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, K, E, and B12.
